In Brief:
Philosophical life counselling is an institution for people
who are suffering from sorrow and problems in life. Their
need quite often is to be able to reflect upon the special
circumstances of their lives. One who realizes this as a
difficult possibility will see the power of philosophical
reflection as a promise. Everyone has a philosophy to drive
their boats, whether it helps them to reach the determination
or not. But philosophical counselling helps them with
self-realization, gives more importance to well-being and a
real meaning to the present, which is nothing but success,
happiness and peace.
We all have our philosophies, but only a philosopher can
improve our philosophies by critical analysis. The
philosophical practitioner helps his client by way of analyzing
the ideas of the visitor rather than imposing his own ideas on
him. Philosophical counselling is non-religious, it is purely
philosophical.
It is an entirely different method from psychology,
psychotherapy and spirituality. It is true that certain
cases need psychological counselling, but the tragedy is,
that many cases do not need psychotherapy,
but only philosophical counselling, but are forced to undergo
psychotherapy. The philosophical practitioner will not
apply a general theory to all. He will treat each visitor as
an individual and find special methods for him/her to come out
of their crisis.
It has to be added that philosophical counselling proves
itself not only in individual cases, but in supporting companies,
organizations and associations in their attempts to find solid
convictions and orientating guidelines.
Usually there are certain problems which make a client
look for dialogue with his philosophical practitioner.
These are normally disappointments, unexpected
experiences, collisions in relationships, business failures,
a stroke of fate and failures in life.
