Lake Bed Sri Yantra Coincidence
by
Joseph E. Mason

I, Joseph E. (Joe) Mason, a tradesman in Central California, have had a unique visionary experience involving
dreams and coincidences, that began in 1990.

The most important conclusion to come from the my experiences and study is that humanity has been on a time
cycle
path that corresponds to the chakra levels. We are near the "three and a half" midpoint of seven, and a leap to the
heart chakra.

The coincidences often seemed to be like confirmations of concepts. The most significant and meaningful
coincidence involved the huge Sri Yantra pattern that was found grooved into a dry lake bed in the state of Oregon,
USA,  in 1990.

The entire story is quite long, but I will report a brief version of the Sri Yantra part of the story here.

On September 13, 1990, I saw a Tantric Yantra in the book, "Myths," by Alexander Elliot:

Guided by inspiration, I drew a 14 pointed star based on an arrangement of nine "chits," which are brass vouchers,
arranged in a diamond shape:
Each chit is shaped like an eight-petal flower. I found later that "chit" means consciousness in Sanskrit.

Each of the chits has the number 128 written on it. I later found that 1152 (9 x 128) means "Witness" in a very
ancient system of Gematria. The number 1152 can be figured as 2^7 x 9 (two to the seventh power times nine).

Some days prior to drawing the above design, my attention was drawn to the "chits" when I saw another graphic in
the same myth book:

It was a photograph of a Viking carving found on the Isle of Man. It depicted the god, Odin, being devoured by the
Fenris Wolf on the Day of Ragnorook, the Doomsday of the Gods at the end of time. There was a circular object in
the lower left corner, with the number 128 on it. I remembered the chits that had been issued to me at work in 1985,
for renting tools from the tool room. I no longer possessed the chits, but later retrieved them again, on September
11, 1990. There were nine of them on a ring.

Strangely, eleven years later to the day, terrorists attacked the USA.

In 1992 I received "CPD Newsletter," number 7, for April, 1992, from Pat Delgado, a crop circle researcher. There
was a report that a giant "sriyantra" appeared grooved into a dry lake bed in Oregon in 1990. An article from the
Canadian magazine "UFO" was sent to Pat by his friend from Devon, Joan Amos. The article was written by Jim
Deardorff. Pat gave some extracts from the long and detailed article:

-----

"On 14th September 1990, the news services released a story about the discovery of a giant pictograph about a
quarter of a mile wide appearing in a dry lake bed east of Steens mountain, about 70 miles S.E. of Burns, Oregon. It
was reported to have been discovered by Idaho Air National Guard pilot, Lt. Bill Miller of the 190th Tactical
Reconnaissance Squadron, while on a flight on 10th August 1990.

The sign was soon noted to be of an ancient Hindu meditation symbol called a sriyantra and orientated precisely
north-south and etched into the dry - lake bed with furrows about three inches deep. Two observers, Decker and
Newman stated there were no vehicle tracks found alongside any of the furrows, although the station wagon used to
inspect the site left tracks about a quarter of an inch deep.

Besides the great size of the design, one of the most impressive aspects of it, when observed up close, was the
lengthwise uniformity of the depth of the furrows and the uniformity with which the clods of alkaline soil had been
displaced out of the furrows equally on both sides.

The sriyantra site is quite remote, situated in a dry -lake bed called Mickey Basin. Because of the excessive
alkalinity, (ph=9.6), no vegetation grows on it.

On their way back from the site, and about seventeen miles from it, Decker and Newman discovered the body of a
cow that exhibited all the classical signs of having been mutilated by unknown means.

According to Rick Attig of the Bend Bulletin newspaper, the first news of the strange formation was aired on the
Boise
TV station on 12th September.

On September 15th the Portland Oregonian reported on it and mentioned an estimate by some architects that the
cost of just carrying out the surveying for such a project would range between $75,000 and $100,000.

Because of the size and the overall precision of the pictograph, the length of the lines within it totals about 13.3
miles. There was initially a good deal of speculation that the pattern was not man-made, but belongs to the same
category of patterns as those that have appeared on the grain fields of England. The pattern was a quarter of a mile
square." [end of extracts]

There was no picture. I searched for information but was unable to find any. I did not know if the "sriyantra" was
related in any way to the "Tantric Yantra."

In March 1993, I began writing an outline article about the leap to the heart chakra by humanity en-mass. Many
coincidence had pointed in that direction. During that time, I returned some books to the library. I happened to see a
book called, "Tantric Way: Art, Science, Ritual" by Ajit Mookerjee and Madhu Khanna. I took the book home.

It had pictures and information about the Sir Yantra.

The 14-pointed star was the same as I had drawn back in 1990 from the Tantric Yantra. One of the meanings was
said to be a path through the chakras from outward-inward in nine steps, leading to the Bindu point, and Union with
the One.

The outer part of the star represents the fourth chakra, the heart chakra.

That was the part I emphasized in my drawing, as I colored the 14 points of the star.

I looked in my records, and found that the news report of the Oregon lake bed "sriyantra" was dated September 14,
1990. I then found my drawing of the 14-pointed star, dated September 13, 1990, the DAY BEFORE the news story
came out!

All this "coincidence" as I was writing the outline article about humanity's leap to the heart chakra seemed to be a
very great confirmation.

Years later, around 1998, I found some information online about the Sri Yantra. A crop circle researcher called ilyes
had a photograph of the Oregon Sri Yantra in her article:

The Oregon UFO Review also has an article, a diagram and photograph:

Another article has a graphic from Bill Witherspoon, who claims to have made the lake bed pattern with assistance
from two other people:

Bill Witherspoon sent me a copy of an e-mail on December 12, 2005. This is an excerpt from that e-mail, concerning
the above photograph:

"Over the years, I have made that photograph, a paper titled “Art as Technology, and other documents and images
freely available to anyone with the stipulation that they are not sold. Publications as varied as Atlantis Rising and
MIT’
s Leonardo (online and print versions) have used my copyrighted material on this basis."

If the image is used, the copyright (© Bill Witherspoon 1990) should be included.

Very few people in America know about the lake bed Sri Yantra. Most people who read the news report probably
dismissed it as a meaningless hoax. Very few people in the west know or care much about symbols from the East. A
few, mostly classed as "New Agers" do know about the chakras, meditation, mandalas, and such. We find many on
the Internet who simply consider themselves "spiritual" and find deep meaning in the Eastern teachings.

My partner, Dee Finney, and I have a very large web site called, "Dreams of the Great Earth Changes." The web
address is: http://www.greatdreams.com/

We have many articles, a number of which include the above story, along with related information. The primary
article on the subject is, "Humanity On The Pollen Path. The web address is:

http://www.greatdreams.com/plpath1.htm

We have a large section on crop circles, most of which appear in England. Quite a few of the patterns seem to
indicate chakras. On July 20, 2004, a crop circle formation appeared that clearly indicated the chakra system:

An additional formation was adjacent to the chakra system, and aligned between the third and fourth chakra. The
additional formation, based on 21 circles, was considered a type of Swastika or Axis Mundi Cross. This seemed to be
an additional confirmation. The formation had a similarity to an image from the Ancient Egyptian, "Book of the Dead."

The snout of the "Swallower" beast and the judgment seat are positioned between the third and fourth nodule
(chakra) of the balance beam pole, where the heart is being weighed against the feather (truth and moral order).

Most people in the West pay little attention to the crop circles. The mass media seldom cover the subject, and when
they do, the skeptical view is presented. The opinions of the serious researchers are seldom presented.

I hope that the people of the East will be more open minded and fair in their judgment of the subject. I hope that
serious scholars will help us all in understanding the messages being placed on the Earth and in our dreams.
