| Dasa Maha Vidya - Meditation on The Ten Great Cosmic Powers |
The Divine Mother manifests as every thing in the Universe. Sri
Lalithambika creates, protects, destroys, vanishes and emerges
as a play. She manifests in ten forms to bless her children. She
appears with specific traits even though she has no distinctive
attributes. The divine manifestations of the divine mother are in
the following ten names: Kali, Thiripura sundari, Thiripura Bairavi,
Dhoomabvathy, Tharambika, Bhuvaneswari, Chinnamastha, Raja
Mathangiswari, Bhagalamukhi and Kamalatharini.
In India, for ages the worship of great mighty personalities of
the Divine Mother has been prevalent. In Southern part of India
the worship of Thiripura sundari is much in vogue. In Tibet and
Kashmir the worship of Tara is in practice. In Bengal Kali
worship is famous. Sri Lalithambikai Amman Temple in
Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, South India is the only place where the
ten Vidyas are in practice. Every year in the month of Chitra when
the Sun enters in to Aries we celebrate Dasa Maha Vidya Sadana
for ten days concluding with the full moon day. This festival is
celebrated in view of Global unity, peace and welfare of all.
Sri Jagannatha Swami who has completed 25 years in his
practice of Sri Vidya upasana conducts all rituals, homas with
total dedication and surrender in meditation. During these hot
days it is a wonder that the divine mother as an answer to the
prayers of her children brings rain. During these days there will
be intensive camps, lectures and initiations for the aspirants of
Sri Vidya Samayachara path. For every action we need the divine
grace of the mother. We can not move even a step against her
wish. Human birth is exceptional and let us lead a pious, devoted
life with values like truth, righteousness, peace, love and
